Leave and holidays

Start with 24 days of annual leave (pro rata for part-time staff), increasing up to 29 days after five years of service.

  • Bank holidays: Staff are entitled to bank holidays off, depending on their role.
  • Statutory leave: Our headquarters in Penrhyndeudraeth closes between Christmas and New Year, providing an additional three days of leave. The Authority also observes St David’s Day, offering a day off either the Friday before or the Monday following, depending on the calendar.
  • Buy annual leave: You have the option to purchase up to two additional weeks of annual leave, with monthly deductions spread over 12 months.
  • Personal care days: Employees may request up to three personal care days, at the discretion of their line manager, for recovery from traumatic events or personal downtime.

Depending on your role, enjoy flexible working hours with the option to work from 7am to 7pm, allowing you to better manage your schedule.
Hybrid Working

  • Induction programme: All new staff receive a comprehensive induction from their line manager and HR, including the completion of the Eryri Ambassador course to better understand the National Park’s special qualities.
  • ELMS system: Access a wide range of course, from Cyber Security to Healthy Lifestyle.
  • Secondments: Secondments are beneficial for staff development and progression within the organisation, and can be useful for addressing a short term need to cover a post.
