To help you with your application, we’ve put together some practical advice. Following these tips can ensure your application reflects your skills and experience accurately.
Be honest
Provide clear and truthful information throughout your application. This helps us understand your abilities and how you meet the requirements of the role.
Assess your Welsh language skills
When applying for a job role with the Authority, the first few questions will assess your spoken, reading, writing, and listening skills in the Welsh language. To complete these questions, please refer to the Welsh Language Skills Framework attached to the job role. This framework will help you accurately assess your proficiency level. Each role is evaluated against the framework before being advertised.
For most roles within the Authority, Welsh is essential and is spoken frequently throughout the workplace.
Understand the role
Read the Job Description carefully. This will give you a clear understanding of the role’s responsibilities and expectations.
Match your skills to the role
The Person Specification outlines the skills, experience, and qualifications needed. Use this as a guide to show how you meet these criteria in your application.
Detail your qualifications
Include all relevant training, courses, and qualifications, along with any pass marks or certifications you’ve achieved.
Highlight relevant experience
Use specific examples to demonstrate how your skills and experiences align with the requirements of the role. Explain clearly how they prepare you to excel in the position.
Include work and volunteering history
List any previous roles or volunteering opportunities. Highlight how they’ve helped you build skills or knowledge relevant to the role you’re applying for.
