To celebrate Dydd Gŵyl Dewi, Yr Ysgwrn is pleased to announce an exciting day of creative and cultural activities on 1 March, along with a special Scratch Night in the evening. The events are being held with the generous support of the Dydd Gŵyl Dewi 2026 Pilot Support Fund. 

Located in the historic home of the poet Hedd Wyn, Yr Ysgwrn will welcome visitors for a full day of activities celebrating Welsh culture, language and creativity in a warm and community-focused atmosphere. 

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Celebrations: 10:00–15:00 

From 10am until 3pm, visitors are invited to take part in a variety of fun and inspiring activities: 

  • Crafts with Eirian Muse – creative workshops suitable for all ages. 
  • Music session with Huwcalale – lively and interactive music. 
  • Poetry with Mali Elwy – poetry sessions and exciting performances. 
  • Performance by Rhiannon O’Connor (Y Llais) – live singing in a special atmosphere. 
  • Guided tours of the historic house – an opportunity to learn more about the life and legacy of Hedd Wyn. 

The day promises to be a warm, community celebration of Welsh culture and creativity.

Scratch Night: 18:00–20:00 

The celebrations will continue in the evening with a Scratch Night, where local actors and playwrights will write, direct and perform brand-new pieces. The evening will offer original, contemporary and entertaining performances for the audience.
