We offer a range of training opportunities and resources to help our staff thrive and succeed in their roles, ensuring they remain equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform effectively in their current and future positions.

Learning and development at Eryri National Park

We provide in-person training events tailored to equip staff with essential skills. Programs such as REC First Aid, Mental Health and Suicide Awareness, and Fire Marshall Training ensure our staff are prepared for a variety of scenarios. We actively encourage learning and skill-building to support career progression and personal growth.

To keep staff connected with the latest industry trends and broaden their networks, we offer opportunities to attend webinars and conferences. These events provide excellent avenues for expanding your skill set, engaging with thought leaders, and networking with peers across the sector.

Our bespoke Eryri Learning Management System (ELMS) offers a wide range of courses designed to support your professional development. Mandatory courses, such as Cyber Security and Safeguarding, ensure that all staff are compliant with essential standards. Additionally, you can explore elective courses like Healthy Lifestyle and Managing Yourself and Time, which contribute to your Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Through the SNPS, supported by all UK National Park Authorities, staff have access to unique professional development opportunities. These include field trips, conferences, job swaps, and study grants. The SNPS allows you to collaborate with colleagues across the UK and gain insight into the diverse challenges and best practices in park management.
We value regular feedback and career planning. Our annual appraisal process, conducted with your line manager, provides the perfect opportunity to discuss your career aspirations, review progress, and identify further learning opportunities that align with your personal development goals.

Our Staff Forum fosters open communication and collaboration. It’s a space where employees from all departments come together to discuss issues, share ideas, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the workplace. The Forum is a great way to have your voice heard and to help shape the future of the Authority.
