At Eryri National Park, we are committed to creating a fair, equal, and smooth recruitment process. Here’s an overview of how the process works and some tips to help you with your application.
Job advertisement
When a job becomes available, it could be a full-time permanent role, seasonal position, fixed-term contract, or part-time role. All roles are advertised on our website through our outsourced partner, Webrecruit.
Application stage
Once advertised, candidates can apply for the role through our website. The application form is your opportunity to showcase your skills and experiences. Each advertisement includes a detailed job description and person specification:
- Job description: A list of the duties and responsibilities involved in the role.
- Person specification: A list of essential and desirable skills and experience needed for the role.
All roles are assessed against our Welsh Language criteria, so the application form includes questions to help us understand your Welsh language skills.
Closing date
Each role will have a clearly stated closing date, typically at midnight. After this time, the system will no longer allow candidates to access or amend their applications. However, before the deadline, candidates can log back in to edit their application as needed.
Shortlisting
After the closing date, the interview panel reviews all applications. Each application is assessed against the person specification. Candidates are either shortlisted for the interview stage or informed via email that their application has been unsuccessful.
The interview
Interviews may take place in person at our headquarters, out on site, or via Microsoft Teams, depending on the role. The interview panel will vary based on the nature of the job. Preparing by learning as much as you can about the role and Eryri National Park is always beneficial.
After the interview, all candidates will be contacted. You are welcome to request feedback from the panel to help with future applications.
Final checks
For successful candidates, the Authority will carry out right-to-work checks and request two references, which must be no older than five years.
